Seminar #2 1pm Getting to Net Zero Energy Building
***Panel Session***

The State Government of South Australia and Adelaide City Council made clear in 2015 their bold plans to make the City of Adelaide the world’s first Carbon Neutral city. One part of approaching this ambitious goal could be through encouraging the construction of net zero energy buildings.

A net zero energy building produces enough renewable energy to meet its own annual energy consumption requirements. Such buildings rely on exceptional energy conservation and on-site renewable generation to meet all of their heating, cooling and electricity needs, but also come with the advantages of having very little (or no) energy bills and exceptional thermal comfort.

Join our Panel for a discussion of how we approach this feat. Make sure to bring your own questions as they will be happy to answer any questions!

Panel will feature representatives from Solar Quotes, Lumen Studio and Sustainability House.

Seminar #1 11am Co-Housing in Adelaide

Co-housing is a type of intentional community composed of private homes supplemented by extensive common facilities. The community is planned, owned and managed by the residents - groups of people who have intentionally chosen this style of living as they want to have a sense of community and more interaction with their neighbours.
Can co-housing help us deliver on a range of social and environmental objectives, including low carbon living, ageing in place and affordable housing? The Adelaide Co-housing group is aiming to facilitate a co-housing project to answer that question locally.
Join Elle and Ed for an informative session on how co-housing can be a more convenient, practical, economical, healthy, interesting, and social way of living.

Seminar #3 3pm Seeds, Growing Food & Gardens

Need tips on how to plan for your garden when designing your property? Join Amelia for some insights on plant selection and use of natives in garden design.

Amelia will also give us insight into the upcoming Seed Freedom Food Festival, a fantastic Adelaide event and resource celebrating, informing & inspiring South Australia on all things ORGANIC, LOCAL, GROWN & SEED SAVING!
